Cardney Steading is a brand new addition to the wedding venue scene in central Scotland. I could boast about it right away or give you some facts first so that you can form your own opinion before I voice mine. I’m sure you’d prefer the latter, in which case, let’s start with the basics.
There are a number of buildings and locations available for your celebrations on the grounds.
The main area includes a courtyard surrounded by the cattle shed, the old mill, the Double Barrel bar, facilities buildings including toilets, cloak room and powder room as well as the shooting lodge overseeing the loch.
The Cattle Shed
The Cattle Shed is a contemporary space that’s been lovingly restored to preserve its rustic barn character. Natural light pours in through the large sliding doors, revealing stunning views out onto the loch, woodlands and beyond. It’s a blank canvas area that can be transformed into your dream place for the evening reception. Dancing your soles off guaranteed!
The Old Mill
The Old Mill is one of the three available ceremony areas. It’s a place where the rustic-grandeur mixes with a home-from-home feel. It’s a perfect place for a small ceremony with close family and friends. Large double doors open directly onto the central courtyard area, which is perfect for group photos if you don’t fancy walking too far away or have guests with mobility problems.
Right between the two buildings above you will find the Double Barrel bar conveniently serving refreshments indoors and outdoors. It conveniently connects all the main areas of the venue ensuring excellent flow to any group of guests. Don’t worry if the weather is not ideal. The courtyard is partially covered by a glass canopy.
Through the back and right next to the cattle shed you will find a firepit area surrounded by cosy stomps, woodland and with the hills in the background. Grab a guitar and a couple of drinks and head right outside. It’s only a few steps away.
The Shooting Lodge
The Shooting Lodge offers a broad veranda with unrivalled views of the estate, the loch and the surrounding hills.
Accommodation at the venue
The three cottages are just a short drive away.
Craigmore is a 3 bedroom accommodation that sleeps 6. With its open plan living, dining and kitchen area it offers a perfect area for bridal preparations.
Middle Cardney is a 3 bedroom, 2 living room spacious accommodation that sleeps up to 10. It’s just a short walk away from Craigmore making it an ideal spot for the groom.
Only a few steps away from Craigmore and Middle Cardney, the Couple Lodge is a cosy cabin with unmatched sights right through the french door at the bottom of the king sized bed. If you feel like waking up to the tranquil view of the hills dotted with sheep, you’re in the right place.
