I only had a handful of weddings like this in 2019. Even more so, this one resonated with me very well and was such a wonderful way to finish the year off.
From day one Julia and Angus made a great impression on me. They were very clear they wanted a wedding full of love, surrounded by their closest friends and family. I knew they had a great community around them, I just didn’t know how great. For someone who shoots this kind of stuff on a regular basis, having to wipe my eyes in between frames is an unusual experience. I’m always ready for best man jokes (I’ve heard many) or traditional Celtic toasts. Man, I did not expect so many beautiful words and poems people filled Craigievar Hall with for these two.
They got ready separately. Tied the knot in a secret location in North East Scotland. Then had a photoshoot in the ruins of Kildrummy castle, the noblest of northern castles. If that wasn’t enough, they turned a local community hall into a party central full of music, laughs, drinks and love. What a day.
